Shaun Wildman
Shaun grew up on a family farm near Flaxcombe, Saskatchewan, and agriculture has never left him. His family still actively farms in west-central Saskatchewan, and Shaun farms land in central and eastern Saskatchewan with partners today. He’s not advising from the outside—he has skin in the same game you do.
After earning his BSA in Agricultural Economics from the University of Saskatchewan, Shaun built a career at the highest levels of global grain and oilseed markets — trading on the floors of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange, advising farmers on futures and options hedging strategies, and spending 13 years with SaskPool/Viterra where he grew their global oilseeds trade to over $3 billion in annual sales with dominant market positions in China, Japan, Mexico, the UAE, and Pakistan, and origination across Canada, Australia, and Ukraine. He later grew Seaboard Corporation's Canadian grain exports from 450,000 metric tonnes to 2 million metric tonnes per year — moving them from 2% to 10% of Canada's total annual grain exports.
What makes Shaun especially valuable to clients is his ability to connect big-picture market knowledge with practical agricultural decision-making on the ground. He is thoughtful, analytical, and committed to understanding the full picture before offering advice. Clients benefit from Shaun’s thorough research, deep understanding of the issues at hand, and steady focus on clear, practical outcomes. He understands farming from the perspective of both a producer and a strategist.
