20 Quarter Turnkey Grazing Block (3,183 acres)

Located on the southern edge of Argo bush, this property offers an amazing grazing opportunity. It boasts a pristine natural environment that is abundant in wildlife.

This block of pasture is located 14 miles south and west of Biggar, SK (8 miles south on highway #4, 6 miles west on Triumph Road). It is approximately 3 miles (east-west) by 2 miles (north-south) nestled between the all-season Triumph grid road and the seasonal correction line dirt road.

Over the past 24 years, the quality and carrying capacity of the native grass has been improved with thoughtful and meticulous planned grazing management. Livestock are moved from paddock to paddock every 7 to 14 days and do not return again to that paddock for a full year. This allows the native grasses time to fully recover. The owners estimate their grazing management plan has nearly doubled the natural carrying capacity of the grass over time. 
Two quarters (parcels #15 & #16) are typically grazed by yearling replacement heifers. They water at dugout #1 which is spring fed and clay lined. The east 7 quarter block (parcels 14 – 20) was not grazed in 2022 so it has stockpiled grass ready for the 2023 grazing season. 

On an average year, total carrying capacity of the property is estimated around 220 cow/calf units (approx. 11 pair per quarter). The grazing season runs from June 1 to November 1 (five months).

Perimeter fencing includes 3 strand barb wire in good condition. As a result of the 2019 Argo bushfire, approximately 85% of the perimeter has a new cut line making fence maintenance easy and convenient. The interior paddocks are managed with high tensile electric fencing and are also maintained with cutlines. The power service on #13 NE-27-34-16-3 powers the entire electric fence system.
